Hi All
Once again we had mixed emotions and wind conditions on both courses
I was on the Laser course AND Dave on the Hobie/420 course.
The wind started out in the morning at about 10-15 knots southwest, but dropped quickly before we got out on the water.
The Lasers got underway at about 12.25pm and Claire had a cooker day – both races she sailed fantastically starting well and holding her positions. She finished with a 7th and a 8th today – She had big smiles all round.
Matthew Shaw had a tough day having some good starts but not being able to find the boat speed – and getting rolled over by the opposition. He finished with two 40ths today.
Brevan and Cullum also had a tuff day with the winds on their course being very fluky and light, they battled as well with the light breeze and getting their boat up to top speed.
Matt and Calene – did not have great day but took some valuable lessons from the days racing, suppose that’s why they say that “Sailing is the most challenging sport in the world” Matt and Calene finished with a 9th and 13th putting them back to 6th overall.
The moral was a little low after racing but with Claire’s success all the bad races have been put behind us and the kids look forward to a lay day tomorrow with Carnival organized by the event. Racing will resume on Wednesday
