Selati Camp

Location

Using the “Out of Africa” theme, the colonial style Selati Camp has all the trimmings you would expect from a luxury camp. When it was built originally it had no electricity in keeping with the Old World feel of the place. Lanterns were used and guest didn’t have air-con or overhead fans. This is no longer the case, however this does not distract from what they are aiming for, a luxury yesteryear safari experience. In the eighteen hundreds when gold was discovered in the old Transvaal, a train track was built through the Sabi Sands to transport the gold, this track can still be seen close to the camp, reminding you that there is a long history to this place.

It’s a very peaceful and quiet camp and at night while sitting around the warm fire in the open-air boma you will be welcomed by the sounds of the wild.
The camp is very intimate and comprises of eight thatched chalets with en suite bathrooms and outside showers. As you can imagine the food in itself is an experience and meals are served on the wooden deck overlooking the Msthulu riverbed.
