The Zulus are coming!!

Recently the town of Dundee came alive with the sound of Zulus.  The re-enactment of the Anglo-Zulu war on January 17.  This years event commenarated the 130th anniversary of the war. Over a 1000 permanent jobs have been created in the battlefields region due the popularity of the tours in Northern Zululand.

Lodge

Fugitives’ Drift Lodge lies on the edge of the Buffalo River Gorge and within a 5000 acre game reserve which teems with game – giraffe, wildebeest, zebra and kudu to name but a few.

The Lodge is the original establishment and is still the Rattrays’ home. Individual well-appointed en-suite rooms are spread throughout well-established lush gardens, complimented by a swimming pool and remarkable views of Zululand.

Fugitives' Drift is the setting for the famous battle of Rorke’s Drift and Isandlwana. Imagine the mighty cries of warriors ringing out as the dawn breaks, before defeating the forces of England who desperately tried to defend the queens colours. The relentless forces of the Zulu “Impies” (warriors) as they continue to attack.
